Poor personal appearance or hygiene. Wow, this is so important. Don't go to an interview in jeans, t-shirt and tennis shoes. I realize this is the gaming industry but it doesn't matter. Put on a nice pair of slacks, clean shirt and make sure your shoes are polished. For women, a nice pair of pants or skirt, jacket top or sweater, nice shoes and please be sure to have your makeup fresh. Clean polished nails are always a pleasure to see as well. |

Inability to express oneself in depth. This is a very important area for discussion. Please think long and hard about how you would describe yourself to an employer. They like to know about you and about what you might think of yourself and about important topics. You will be spending a great deal of time with your co workers. Being able to communicate properly is vital. |

Cocky, overbearing or aggressive manner and body language. No one is interested in having people around who don't fit in. |

Lack of enthusiasm or interest in the opportunity. Ask questions, be passionate about the meeting and don't act bored. |

Negative attitude about past employers or bosses. Wow - I could go on for hours about this one. So many candidates have lost jobs because they wanted to talk negatively about past employers and their situations. Don't do this and don't speak badly about anyone. Don't burn bridges...Be Professional at all times. |
